There is a world of little tricks you can use that will make applying makeup so much easier and ensure that you always get the application you want. Here are the top 5 makeup hacks that will change your life:
If you find that your foundation looks cakey and is flaking off during the day, try mixing your primer in with your foundation. The primer will thin out the foundation and give you a sheer, natural base. Then, apply it evenly with a foundation brush. Use a smaller more dense brush for covering spots. If you need to refresh your foundation during the day, spray the larger end of a beauty sponge with a face mist and gently dab the areas that need refreshing.
Does your concealer crease under your eyes? There is one way to stop it. Apply foundation only on the underneath of the orbital bone. Creasing happens when you layer concealer over foundation. Apply your concealer below your eyes and add a little more right below the pupil for brightness. Then, blend it with a damp beauty sponge. Dip the same damp beauty sponge into translucent setting powder and apply it immediately before the concealer completely dries. This will set the concealer and keep it in place.
Even Eye Shadow
This is an incredibly easy trick for long lasting eye shadow. Instead of your eye shadow creasing throughout the day, this hack will give you full pigmentation that will not budge. Use waterproof eyeliner that is similar in color to the eye shadow that you want to use. Apply it all over the lid, not just on the lash line. Using the eyeliner as a base prevents creasing and smudging during the day. After applying the eyeliner, gently blend and soften it with a brush. Apply your eyeshadow immediately on top, before the eyeliner sets.
Wicked Winged Liner
Getting the perfect cat eye can be extremely tedious. If you feel like you have messed up, here is one way to fix it. Dip a synthetic angled brow brush into make up remover solution. Then trace the bottom lash line to the brow creating a straight line. Be sure to wipe away the excess eyeliner and clean your brush as you work. Once you have a clear sketch, go over it with more eyeliner to sharpen the edges and fill in any gaps. Use the same brush, dip it into some foundation and clean up the edge of your winged liner to give it a sharper finish.
Fuller looking lips are all the rage right now and can easily be achieved with a few tricks. Start off by brushing your lips with a lip scrub to get rid of dry flakes and boost circulation giving you a nice rosy tint. Pat on a small amount of concealer onto your lips and spread it a little over your natural lip line. Use a lip liner that matches your lipstick and trace slightly outside your natural lip line. Then fill them in with lipstick or just use the line for your whole pout. You can apply gloss onto the middle of both your lips as shimmer picks up light and it will make your pout look fuller.
